6.1 Introduction

The messages defined in the various parts of the DSR and CDM standards make extensive use of allowed value sets. These allowed value sets are used in all DDEX standards and DDEX provides a data dictionary which lists all the definitions for all the allowed values in all of the allowed value sets. The current version the DDEX data dictionary, as well as older versions of the DDEX data dictionary, are available from http://kb.ddex.net .

In the future, new versions of the Records contained in the various parts of the DSR and CDM standards (that is, Part 8 of the DSR standard and Part 2 of the CDM standard) will reference the current version of the allowed value sets as contained in the DDEX data dictionary. However, Records and their definitions that were published before this version of Part 2 of the DSR standard use the following names for the following allowed value sets:

DDEX may update the list of allowed value sets over time and this may therefore require the AVS version number to be increased. When this happens, the new current AVS version number will be publicised on the DDEX Knowledge Base. Any such updated version of the allowed value sets which is issued on a date after the publication date of this Part 2 of the DSR standard forms part of the various parts of the DSR and CDM standards.
